Robert E. Hayes, 72, of Dover, died Friday, September 27, 2013, at Legacy Heights Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Russellville. He was born September 26, 1941, at Sioux City, Iowa. He was a sign shop supervisor and a well-known pin striper, and was a member of The Journey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas J. and Margaret Olson Patris.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Faulkner Hayes; a son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Susan Hayes of San Diego, California; a daughter, Nadine Gray of San Diego; a step-son, Patrick Faulkner of Livonia, New York; a step-daughter and her husband, Shannon and Daniel Swingle of Honeoye, New York; 10 grandchildren, Shelbie Hayes, KatieHayes, Derrin Gray, Cameron Gray, Maczenie Faulkner, Ian Faulkner, Kenneth Faulkner, Courtney Swingle, Scott Swingle and James Swingle and his wife, Caryn; and a great-grandson, James D. Swingle.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at the Shinn Chapel, officiated by Elder Tony Lee, and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Lemmon, Reed Lemmon, Heath Roach, Richard Moore, Rick Johnson and Patrick Faulkner.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 1 p.m. until service time, at the funeral home.
