A Pope County jury found James Gould guilty of aggravated robbery but deadlocked on a first-degree murder charge. Judge William Pearson declared a mistrial on the charge, which would allow the State to try Gould again.

A Pope County jury sentenced James Gould to 55 years in prison for aggravated robbery, with an enhanced penalty for using a handgun while committing the crime.
