The Russellville Police Department responded to a possible disturbance on the 600 block of W. J St.  Officers knocked on the apartment door where the disturbance was reported and announced who they were, and the door was quickly locked from the inside. Officers then heard a male voice plead for help.

The officers forced entry into the home and found two white males covered in blood in a rear bedroom. The two men were placed into custody. A third male in the apartment had severe injuries to his head and face.

The victim was transported by Pope County EMS to Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center but was later air lifted to UAMS in Little Rock in critical condition.

The two suspects stated that they came to the victim’s home to talk to him about a relationship the victim was having with the ex-wife of one of the suspects. They proceeded to beat the victim for a lengthy period.

The two suspects, Joshua Holsted (age 23) and Cody Gumm (age 33) were both charged with kidnapping, residential burglary, and battery in the 2nd degree.  Both suspects were transported to Pope County Detention Center with a felony hold.

Can't keep your love life private. All it takes is 1 person to know something, and then they go to other people and tell their OWN version of things and that's how this kinda crap gets started. I hope those two morons pay for what they done, and I hope the guy who was dang near beaten to death makes a full recovery. Sounds like the ex-husband has a bad jealousy problem and very possessive.
