The Dardanelle Police Department, in a series of good police work for the month of July, removed from the streets of Dardanelle, 15 grams of the meth along with 16 units of prescribed controlled substances. Total street value of the meth seized was $1,500 and the total street value of the pills was in excess of $480.

The seizures came from traffic stops made by the Dardanelle Police officers and seizures of the drugs were from the persons or vehicle in which the arrestee was driving.

Several of the arrests and seizures occurred while officers were investigating crimes of stolen credit/debit cards and forged checks. These items were taken for the purpose of obtaining money for the purchase of the drugs. This is only within the Dardanelle Police Department.

There were more arrests made by Arkansas State Police and the 15th Judicial Drug Task Force, Yell County Sheriff's Office. These arrests were made within the city limits and account for additional drug seizures.

The Dardanelle Police Department is proud of the professional work their officers displayed in making the traffic stops, drug seizures and arrests. This progress will slow the drug trafficking down for a short time, but will not end it. The Dardanelle Police Department will not stop making traffic stops that result in the seizure of illegal drugs and arrest those in possession of the drugs.

The department asks for the community's help by reporting any type of suspicious behavior that may be observed.

Drug arrests made in July include:

Brittany Hill, white female, arrested for possession of controlled substance (meth and pills), possession with intent to deliver, forgery.

Shandale Turney, white female, arrested for possession of a controlled substance (meth and pills), possession with intent to deliver, forgery.

Jessica Jenkins, white female, arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

Donald Turpin, white male, arrested for possession of a controlled substance (meth and pills), possession with intent to deliver.
