Dane Knight, 66 of Dover, faces several felony charges (1st degree criminal mischief, terroristic threatening, possession of marijuana, possessing instruments of crime, obstructing governmental operations, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest) after his arrest on Sunday, December 16.
After a brief struggle, Pope County Sheriff's Office Sgt. McMillan was able to handcuff Knight and while searching him McMillan located a metal pipe with marijuana in it within Knight's pocket. Knight was placed in the back of McMillan's car and transported to the Pope County Detention Center. While at the detention center Knight hit and kicked the holding cell door, urinated on the floor and continuously refused to cooperate with the detention center staff.
According to statements by Pope County Investigator Lydon, Knight had damaged a plane at the Landers Loop airport, the hanger and the runway with his vehicle. Estimated damage on the plane was $16,000, while he inflicted $2,000 worth of damage to the hanger and $3,000 in damage to the runway.
Knight was issued bond in the amount of $100,000 by Judge Don Bourne and was ordered to appear in circuit court on January 28.
